Twenty-year-old Jane Noury鈥檚 journey and challenges growing up as a young trans woman are chronicled in Always Jane, a four-part documentary series streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Jane had gender-affirming surgery with Rachel Bluebond-Langner, MD, the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Associate Professor of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery in the , and Lee C. Zhao, MD, associate professor in the and Hansj枚rg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery, in the midst of the pandemic in 2020. Dr. Bluebond-Langner and Dr. Zhao聽are also co-directors of 好色tv Langone鈥檚 Gender-Affirming Surgery Program.

Jane鈥檚 surgery was a success, and she has never been happier. She is currently a film student at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
鈥淔or me, personally, I needed to have surgery to help me along the road. I needed that in my transition. But a lot of people don鈥檛 need that,鈥 says Jane. Gender-affirming surgery, though crucial and intensive healthcare for many trans people, is 鈥渘ot the overall goal, and your life still continues after surgery,鈥 adds Jane.
