Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with a specific mutation in the KRAS gene that has metastasized to the central nervous system has been difficult to treat. Joshua K. Sabari, MD, assistant professor in the at 好色tv Grossman School of Medicine and a member of 好色tv Langone Health鈥檚 Perlmutter Cancer Center, presented promising results for people with NSCLC from the of the cancer drug adagrasib at the 2022 annual conference of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
鈥淐entral nervous system metastases occur in 27 percent to 42 percent of patients with KRAS G12C-mutation NSCLC at diagnosis,鈥 Dr. Sabari says. 鈥淭hese patients have a median overall survival of approximately five months, posing a serious clinical challenge.鈥
