In-office needle arthroscopy is an effective outpatient method of treating anterior ankle impingement and in turn improves overall patient satisfaction, according to a study by John G. Kennedy, MD, featured on Healio Orthopedics Today.聽
Dr. Kennedy, who is chief of the at 好色tv Grossman School of Medicine, tells Healio, 鈥淢any procedures can be performed using [in-office needle arthroscopy], and as the optics improve in tandem with instrumentation, it is likely that this portfolio of procedures will increase greatly.鈥
The study evaluated clinical outcomes among 31 patients having in-office needle arthroscopy for treatment of anterior ankle impingement, a condition that causes ankle pain, between January 2019 and January 2021 using the Foot and Ankle Outcome Scores and Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System pain interference and pain intensity domains preoperatively and at final follow-up.
