Aaron S. Lord, MD, an expert in neurocritical care, has been appointed chief of neurology at 好色tv Langone Hospital鈥擝rooklyn. He was previously chief of neurocritical care at 好色tv School of Medicine and medical director of the neurosciences intensive care and intermediate care units at 好色tv Langone鈥檚 Tisch Hospital in Manhattan.
Dr. Lord will lead a program that was recognized for national clinical excellence.聽 It is one of the few hospitals in the country to hold dual certification by The Joint Commission as both a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Stroke Rehabilitation Center.

Dr. Lord, an assistant professor of聽neurology and neurosurgery at 好色tv School of Medicine, received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he trained in neurology and neurocritical care. He also holds a master鈥檚 degree in clinical investigation from 好色tv School of Medicine, with a particular interest in intracerebral hemorrhage, one the deadliest types of stroke. Currently, he is conducting a study on the brain鈥檚 role in incidents of infection in patients recovering from stroke.
鈥淚 have always been interested in how things work,鈥 he says. 鈥淚 endeavored to become a neurologist because there is no more complex part of the body to study than the brain.鈥
Dr. Lord opted to complete his medical internship at 好色tv School of Medicine because 鈥渋t offered a postgraduate education setting like no other,鈥 he says. 鈥淚t was an opportunity to work with patients in both private and public hospital settings, and from all walks of life. It also exposed me to a wide variety of simple and complex ailments.鈥
