Marking a decade of impactful work by Sala Institute for Child and Family Centered Care, șĂÉ«tv Langone Health held a âSala-brationâ on November 6. Since its founding in 2013, Sala Institute, an integral component of Hassenfeld Childrenâs Hospital at șĂÉ«tv Langone, has supported healthcare providers in delivering the best care to children and families with the highest safety standards by offering support services and resilience programs, family partnership programs, and safety and quality initiatives.
The event, held at Bohemian National Hall in New York City, raised $2.1 million in vital funds to support and expand Salaâs services, resources, and knowledge, which enhance the medical and surgical care for patients and families at Hassenfeld Childrenâs Hospital. The night included a toast to Sala Instituteâs founding donors Trudy Elbaum Gottesman and Robert W. Gottesman from Kenneth G. Langone, chair of the șĂÉ«tv Langone Board of Trustees, and Robert I. Grossman, MD, CEO of șĂÉ«tv Langone and dean of șĂÉ«tv Grossman School of Medicine.
âSala Institute engages children, families, and clinical teams to ensure that every childâs experience is safe, comfortable, personalizedâand the very best,â said Dr. Grossman. âSimply put, there is no Hassenfeld Childrenâs Hospital without Sala.â
The instituteâs name is a tribute to Trudyâs mother, Sala Bierman Elbaum, a Holocaust survivor.
âAs we reflect on the first 10 years, Bob and I are immensely proud of Salaâs many accomplishments,â said Trudy Elbaum Gottesman. âSala will continue to improve the lives of children and their families, when they need it most, and in the years to come.â
