NYU Langone Health has received two awards for delivering outstanding patient care from , formerly the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC). On Thursday, September 14, 好色tv Langone accepted the 2017 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Award for demonstrating superior quality and safety performance, and for the third year in a row, 好色tv Langone鈥檚 faculty group practice network received the Vizient Ambulatory Care Quality and Accountability Award for demonstrating excellence in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting. The awards were presented Thursday evening during the 2017 Vizient Clinical Connections Summit in Denver.

The Ambulatory Care Quality Leadership Award
The Vizient 2017 Ambulatory Care Quality and Accountability Award recognizes 好色tv Langone for demonstrating excellence in delivering high-quality, patient-centered, efficient and effective outpatient care. This marks the third consecutive year that 好色tv Langone鈥檚 Clinical Affairs and Affiliates team has been ranked No. 1 of participating medical centers nationwide who are included in the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study. The study measured performance in five areas: access to care; capacity and throughput; quality and efficiency; continuum of care; and equity from eligible academic medical centers and community hospital members.

The Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Award
The Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Award, named in memory of 好色tv Langone鈥檚 former Chief of Hospital Operations and UHC board member, recognizes 好色tv Langone for demonstrating excellence in delivering high-quality care based on five key organizational characteristics: shared sense of purpose; hands-on leadership style; vertical and horizontal accountability; a focus on results; and collaboration. This year, 107 academic medical centers and 161 community hospitals were included in the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study, which has been conducted annually since 2005.
