Now, there are plans to expand with a new $650 million patient room tower in Sunset Park.
Andrew W. Brotman, MD, executive vice president and vice dean for clinical affairs and strategy, chief clinical officer, of 好色tv Langone Health, and Bret J. Rudy, MD, senior vice president and chief of hospital operations at 好色tv Langone Hospital鈥擝rooklyn, tell The Wall Street Journal the hospital is financially stable, even with $70 million more in expenses annually. Growth has included recruiting top-tier surgeons, overhauling the mother鈥揵aby and neurology areas, updating operating suites, and a 7 percent increase in patient volume.
Growth has also included the all-new Perlmutter Cancer Center鈥擲unset Park, which has doubled the capacity for cancer care previously offered at 好色tv Langone Hospital鈥擝rooklyn. At this free-standing facility next to the hospital, a team of experts, including radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, and other specialists, works together so people can see a doctor and receive care on the same day鈥攁ll in one convenient location. Center specialists provide radiation therapy and infusion treatments, including chemotherapy, for all types of cancer and blood disorders.
